The last two months...
Hello and welcome to MadeMeThink! Once a week I send out this newsletter with curated content, events and examples that have sparked my interest. It's a review of my last 7-days in Web3, NFTs and the Metaverse.
My New Year's resolution to write a newsletter every week lasted a whole 2 months. Now it was 2 months radio silence, sorry for that. On Twitter and Linkedin, however, I was very active, that seems to work. But I will not give up and start a new attempt with writing a weekly newsletter. Yet, the German language version will be dropped. I will only write in English.
I have two intense months behind me. I gave quite a few talks and my new university course on "Web3, NFTs & Metaverse" was successfully held for the first time. Attached are a few impressions from my set of slides.
I was in New York last week to speak at the largest NFT conference on how newcomers can beat established companies. The video recording of the talk should go online in the next few weeks and I'll be happy to share it with you then. Attached are a few impressions from NFT NYC 2023 and my time in New York, I love this city.
Fun Fact: The conference has featured speakers and artists on the iconic billboards at Times Square. I was so tired due to jet lag that I missed my appearance. But small world, someone on Twitter posted a picture with me on it, so now I have one :) One of my NFTs actually was already featured at Times Square last year at NFT NYC 2022. So with a little delay, I made it up there too 😅 🙌
And finally some more content for this edition of my newsletter. These days I read the "State of Crypto Report 2023" from the venture capital investor a16z. There are some interesting slides in it. You can find the full report here. Below are the slides that particularly piqued my interest.

I own various cryptocurrencies and NFTs, however in many cases it is for the sake of researching the field and gaining a deeper understanding of Web3, NFTs and the Metaverse and not for investment purposes.
