Hello and welcome to MadeMeThink! Once a week I send out this newsletter with curated content, events and examples that have sparked my interest. It's a review of my last 7-days in Web3, NFTs and the Metaverse.
Wow, there is currently a lot going on again. In this newsletter I want to write about a) the "Tech, Money & Art" conference we are hosting next week and b) the WalletFrens.xyz Co-Founder Meetup I had in Brazil.
“Tech, Money & Art: Exploring Web3/ NFTs” Conference
Next week, Wednesday May 24, 1600-1900 hrs, we are hosting a conference called "Tech, Money & Art: Exploring Web3/ NFTs". If you're in the region (Vorarlberg, Austria) or nearby, stop by, it will be an inspiring afternoon. The conference is free, but registration is required. I know all the speakers personally and I know they all have a lot to tell, so you don't want to miss this ;) I also give a keynote. Note: The conference will be held in German except for the presentation of Dadara, which will be held in English.
WalletFrens Co-Founder Meetup in Brazil
It's actually quite a funny story how I met my WalletFrens.xyz Co-Founder Oliver. He was my neighbor in Metavillage’s Pioneers Landing disctrict, a Solana NFT project, meaning his virtual house was next to mine 😅🤷♂️ Being good neighbors, we met virtually for a coffee and went VR fishing.
During our virtual conversations we said it would be nice if there would be a kind of Twitter for wallet addresses, where you don't follow what people say about the NFT space, but what they actually do in the NFT space. That means you follow the wallet addresses of your friends and get alerts when they buy or sell NFTs. This is how WalletFrens.xyz was created almost a year ago. All this time, although working closely together, we never met in person because Oliver lives in Brazil. But we did weekly meetups, often in VR spaces.
After a year of working together, we have now met in person the first time in Brazil. That Oliver is a great co-founder was already clear to me, even though we've never met in person, and that was only confirmed by the in-person meetup. But having a beer together in real life is still better than in virtual reality, I must say… 😅🤷♂️
… and Brazil is really worth a trip. Thanks to Oliver I had a local friend who showed me the country from a different side than I would see it as a tourist. And wow, it's a really fascinating country. The food is great, the weather pleasant and what really excited me, the people are very entrepreneurial. It will certainly not have been my last trip to Brazil, attached are a few impressions....

It was a pleasure having you here with me in Brazil my friend. Looking forward to many many years of work and fun together. Work hard, play harder! :)
