Many of my friends and colleagues are still critical when it comes to NFTs. They can't imagine what value digital art, for example, can have. It's just a Jpeg on a computer.

To leave this abstract level, I have created a gallery with some of my favourite NFTs. Now friends and colleagues can walk through my gallery and have a look at my NFT collection (if they are with me, even in VR via my Oculus Quest 2).

German version of this article / deutschsprachige Fassung.

The presentation of my NFTs in a gallery has really helped many in my network to build an understanding of NFTs, their artistic value, and why someone would collect NFTs in the first place. If you are interested, walk through my OnCyber exhibit at https://cyber.xyz/mademethink.xyz (with music).

So if you have NFTs yourself, set up a gallery via OnCyber (or similar platforms) and share it with your circle of friends and colleagues (and with me, would love to see it). It took me about 1-2 hours to set up the gallery. But it was worth the time: now most people around me understand why I buy JPEGs and don't just "right-click save" them.

By the way: In the meantime, I almost only visit virtual galleries. Numerous exhibitions are just a click away and the art shown in these galleries can be breathtaking. If you know a virtual gallery that is really worth seeing, let me know!

Enclosed are a few screenshots from my gallery.

My NFT gallery on OnCyber. Some works of the artist Rata Yonqui, whose pixelart I really enjoy.
Some of my NFT PFP (Profile Picture) projects.
On the right, two NFTs that $LIT gave their supporters as an airdrop. On the left, a Degenerate Trash Panda and a Fatales I bought the other day while researching #WomenInNFTs. Ah, and importantly, in the back, the two single-color NFTs from tzcolors, to my knowledge the first NFT project on the Tezos Blockchain.
By the way, the music you hear in the background is a "generative mixtape" by Mike Shinoda (LinkinPark). And last but not least, on the far right, a piece of art by my friend xReboot.

Thanks for sharing, Thomas. You wrote "now most people around me understand why I buy JPEGs and don't just "right-click save" them.". Why is this? Why does putting those pictures in a virtual gallery give arguments for buying the instead of "right-click save" them? I see your hope that those NFTs might become worth more when the artists are getting more famous. But I can't make the relationship to the virtual gallery as a reason.
